signing in to remember one of the great guitarists. love his stuff and trying to learn some of his songs. onward flies the bird.

For a long time I thot "Live Chronicles" was just a rehash of "Chronicles..." Then I discovered "Moonglum" was not on any other album, and a listen convinced me of HLL's great talent. Never got the attention he deserved. RIP Huw

Just happened on this website. My brother and I grew up a few doors along from Huw in Station Rd Harlesden back in the 1950s. His dad had the local chemist shop. There was on old photograph (now sadly lost) taken by Huw's mum of the 3 of us outside the shop all aged about 8 or 9 dressed as cowboys! Pretty sure we knew him as Hugh rather than Huw because I think we nick-named him Hug!

First time I saw saw Huw was at Stonehenge in 84 along with the rest of the Hawks, next was 85 at Portsmouth Guildhall the Black Sword Tour, such an amazing guitarist, even now 30 plus years later I cry at tracks like Moonglum, Huw will never be replaced, he was a guitarist from a very different plane, very very sadly missed.

You extended the hand of friendship
after the sky had fallen in
after the dark clouds of anger
had sundered another's bond

Bygone echoes of your footsteps
were heard in the faint sound of my own
but your star burned higher and brighter
guiding one whose eagle had flown

Now in the near melody of heaven
on the strings of some distant shore
I'll forever hear your soul express
in that Heart with an open door

Play on, Huw. Fond memories. LT

I met Huw in person after an LLG gig in York (circa '91). A truly nice bloke who will never be forgotten.

Love you Huw

Very sad on hearing the news yesterday, I had the great pleasure to see Huw play several times. A guitar genius second to none. I raise a glass to Huw Lloyd Langton...

The greatest British guitarist, ever. A Wonderful man with a unique gift; your sound will always be your signature. God's speed HLL

Cheerio
Life is indeed a long song.
Heaven means nothing without our participation here in this 'hemlock world'.
